Conceived as part of the Hull City of Culture 2017 celebrations, 53˚North was a music industry conference with a mission to enlighten aspiring musicians about the intricacies of the field. Leveraging our team's extensive background and firsthand knowledge of the music industry, we seized the opportunity to spearhead the development of the event's brand identity and art direction. To authentically capture the spirit of young, emerging musicians eager to make their mark, this project employs vibrant colours, stylised imagery, and bold typographic executions, creating an aesthetic as audacious as its target audience.
Glass Creative, working alongside yesyesBD and leveraging our team's extensive background and firsthand knowledge of the music industry, took charge of shaping the brand identity and art direction for 53˚North. Our approach went beyond conventional design; it aimed to authentically capture the spirit of young, emerging musicians who were eager to make their mark on the industry.
The result was a vibrant and dynamic visual identity, employing a palette of lively colours, stylised imagery, and bold typographic executions. This intentional use of design elements created an aesthetic that mirrored the audacious spirit of its target audience. Through careful branding and art direction, 53˚North became more than just a conference; it became a visually compelling and impactful representation of the music culture it aimed to celebrate and nurture.
