3 reasons why your business should be using Email Marketing in 2024

Over the past 6 years, the bread and butter of my work for creative agencies has been Email Marketing. This is a niche that not many creatives dare to specialise in, but after learning my craft, I’ve learned a lot about what makes a successful Email Marketing campaign.

Social Media is a dying art.

That’s not to say you should abandon your Instagram account and close down Twitter (are we calling it X yet?). But have you noticed how difficult it’s becoming to get your content seen by the people you want to interact with? What about the influx of bot accounts spamming every other post?

Here are 3 reasons why I believe that in 2024 and beyond, more and more brands will see successful growth by embracing Email Marketing.

1- Your audience is already engaged.

By now we’re all aware of the fact that unless you’re willing to part with $8 a month, Twitter / X is severely limiting the reach that accounts have, no matter how much effort you put into your content. Reports state that throughout 2024 other platforms are due to follow suit (TikTok and Meta have already trialed paid services that remove ads on their platforms).

But this isn’t the case when it comes to Email Marketing.

When you communicate with your audience via Email, you’re speaking to an engaged audience that has actively chosen to receive emails from your business and have shown an active interest in your products / services (delete as applicable).

2- Personalisation is a breeze.

Want to spend hours sending DM’s to your most supportive customers? Of course not! But this is the only way to personalise messages via social media.

Using data-integrations and easy to use AI’s, sending personalised emails is a breeze.

For example. You could send an extra special discount to those customers with an upcoming birthday, and inform new sign ups of their one-time offer all within the same campaign, simply by using automation to segment your mailing list data. Now imagine sending all of those DM’s!

3- No more pandering to the algorithm.

How do you get 10k views on Instagram this week? Is it Reels? Or Carousels? What audio is trending at the moment? Have I posted enough stories today?

With Email Marketing you don’t have to worry about pleasing any mysterious systems. Using analytic reports based on your previous sends, you can tailor your campaigns to feature the information that your audience actively engages with, and wants to hear more about.

To take this one step further, you can easily create a survey to ask your customers questions directly, without hoping that they’ll stumble across your post whilst scrolling through their reels. You could even sweeten the deal with a thank you discount for completing your survey.

This is just the tip of the iceberg as to why I wholeheartedly believe that Email Marketing is the way to win big in 2024.
